The Florentine Project

I was inspired by Florentine and broader European style when designing and constructing this garment during a fashion design course in Florence, Italy, as part of a collaborative student collection with Liberty London Fabrics. The design merges bold pattern work with a modern silhouette.

The look features tailored shorts and a coordinating scarf detail in a vibrant Liberty print, paired with a sleek navy blue tie top that balances structure and fluidity. This piece reflects the intersection of classic European elegance and contemporary fashion, highlighting how place, culture, and textile heritage influence my design process.

This look debuted in a student fashion show for faculty, peers, and Florentine locals, and was later selected for sale at the curated vintage boutique FLY (Fashion Loves You), located in the heart of Florence.
