The Vivian Project

This project highlights the process of flat pattern making, from drafting and prototyping to refining fit adjustments. The final design is a retro-inspired dress featuring bold black fabric with oversized white polka dots, evoking a 1950s aesthetic.

Key design elements include voluminous puff sleeves that create a dramatic, feminine silhouette and a deep neckline framed by a large, pointed collar. The collar is accented with a delicate white ruffle, adding softness and playful contrast to the structured lines of the dress. A fitted bodice transitions into an A-line skirt, balancing structure and movement to achieve a timeless and flattering silhouette.
